IPR as a Tool for Knowledge Transfer and Value Creation in Dominican Republic

There is a need to analyse IPR & KT regimes in the Caribbean countries with a view to identify bottlenecks, loopholes and areas of improvement. In this sense, IPICA has developed different activities in the last 3 years, part of them focused on the analysis of the IP and KT frameworks of the Caribbean region. This study is based in the National Intellectual Property Strategy of Dominican Republic 2012.

Evidences of the effect of intellectual capital on the performance of firms of the Dominican Republic

This paper presents the main findings of the first exploratory study on intellectual capital in firms of the Dominican Republic, covering both manufacturing and services firms. The aim of the study was to identify factors related to intellectual capital that could explain business and innovation performance in firms.

National Intellectual Property Strategy of Dominican Republic 2012

The National Strategy evaluates and analyses the National Intellectual Property in the Dominican Republic with the aim of integrating IP in public bodies, as well as in the National development plans and strategies in the country. It seeks to improve competitiveness, productivity, innovation and economic and social development by stimulating a culture of the effective use of Intellectual Property.
